210 of 591 COVID-19 Tests Positive in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday reported 210 new positive cases in the past 24 hours out of 591 tests.

The ministry also reported 17 deaths due to COVID-19 over the last 24 hours while 549 others have recovered.

With this, the total known COVID-19 cases in the country reached 33,594, the total deaths reached 937 and the total number of recoveries is at 20,700.

Meanwhile, the number of known active cases of COVID-19 in the country is 11,957 and, so far, 77,501 samples have been tested, according to data by the Ministry.

Kabul was on the top of the list with 141 new cases followed by Takhar with 14 cases and Paktia with 12.

The recoveries were reported in Kandahar (4), Balkh (10), Nangarhar (1), Baghlan (2), Logar (2), Kunduz (9), Nimruz (3), Badakhshan (7), Parwan (2), Kunar (1), Panjshir (1) and Kapisa (1).

The deaths were reported in Kabul (16) and Herat (1).
