758 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday reported 758 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,323 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cases in the country to 17,267.

The ministry also reported 24 COVID-19 deaths and 78 recovered patients in the last 24 hours.

Kabul is a hotspot with 332 positive cases reported in the past 24 hours.

Elsewhere, positive cases were reported in Herat (216), Kandahar (54), Balkh (52), Jawzjan (48), Logar (19), Faryab (11), Kunar (11), Badakhshan (5), Nuristan (5), Nangarhar (3) and Samangan (2).

The total number of known deaths is 270 and recovered cases is 1,450.

So far, the ministry has tested 42,273 samples countrywide.

The total active cases in the country is 15,451. The total accumulated confirmed cases is 17,267.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 380,384 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 6,385,902, according to Johns Hopkins University.
