Afghanistan: 46 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Past 24 Hours

The Ministry of Public Health on Sunday reported 46 new cases of the coronavirus out of 221 samples tested over the last 24 hours.    

So far, 100,960 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 8,401 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.   

In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported two new deaths from COVID-19 and 221 recoveries.  

The number of total cases is now 37,999, the total reported deaths is 1,387, and the total recoveries is 28,211.    

The cases were reported in Herat (15), Balkh (11), Bamiyan (2), Takhar (3), Badghis (3), Kunduz (3), Badakhshan (2), Wardak (2) and Farah (5) provinces.  

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 804,431 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 23,205,331, according to Johns Hopkins University.
