Afghanistan: Over 19,000 Known Active COVID-19 Cases

The Ministry of Public Health on Friday reported 276 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 932 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The ministry also reported eight new deaths and 132 recoveries.
 
With this, the total confirmed cases reached 30,451 and deaths reached 638 while there have been 10,306 recoveries countrywide so far.
 
The positive cases were reported in Kabul (71), Herat (27), Paktia (27), Takhar (25), Bamiyan (23), Kunduz (20), Balkh (17), Kandahar (12), Nangarhar (10), Laghman (8), Nimroz (7), Badakhshan (7), Jawzjan (7), Uruzgan (6), Kunar (3), Logar (2), Wardak (2), and Panjshir (2).
 
The deaths were reported in Herat (4), Paktia (2), Nangarhar (1), and Zabul (1).
 
The recoveries were reported in Balkh (52), Kandahar (35), Sar-e-Pul (21), Zabul (10), Uruzgan (6), Nimroz (5), and Kunduz (3).
 
According to data by Public Health Ministry, so far 69,558 samples have been tested and there are 19,462 active cases of the coronavirus in the country.
