COVID-19 Latest: 112 of 333 Test Positive

The Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday reported 112 new positive cases of the coronavirus from 333 samples tested over the last 24 hours.

So far, 84,202 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 10,690 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.

In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported three new deaths from COVID-19 and 76 recoveries.

The number of total cases is now 35,615, the total reported deaths is 1,186, and the total recoveries is 23,739.

The highest count was reported in Balkh with 38, followed by Herat with 23--other cases were reported in Kandahar (2), Paktia (7), Nangarhar (1), Badghis (4), Nimruz (2), Laghman (1), Ghor (20), Paktika (12) and Nuristan (2).

Also, the ministry reported two COVID-19 deaths in Kabul and one in Balkh.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 609,955 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 14,705,330, according to Johns Hopkins University.
