COVID-19 Latest: 36 of 187 Cases Test Positive in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported 36 new positive cases of the coronavirus out of 187 samples tested over the last 24 hours. 

So far, 89,547 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 9,902 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health. 

In the last 24 hours, no deaths and recoveries were reported. 

The number of total cases is now 36,782, the total reported deaths is 1,288, and the total recoveries is 25,556. 

The cases were reported in Herat (21) and Kabul (15) provinces. 

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 693,700 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 18,282,504, according to Johns Hopkins University.
