COVID-19 Latest: 55 of 149 Cases Test Positive in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Monday reported 55 new cases of the coronavirus out of 149 samples tested over the last 24 hours.   
 
So far, 101,208 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 8,305 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.  

 In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported two new deaths from COVID-19 and 149 recoveries.   

The number of total cases is now 38,054, the total reported deaths is 1,1389, and the total recoveries is 28,360.    

The cases were reported in Herat (22), Daikundi (18), Kabul (6), Nangarhar (4), Ghazni (4) and Kunar (1) provinces.   

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 809,106 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 23,447,224, according to Johns Hopkins University.
