Number of COVID-19 Cases in Afghanistan: 367

The Ministry of Public Health said that on Monday about 2,737 suspicious cases have been sent to laboratories, of which 367 are positive and the rest are negative.

"So far, we have 18 people who have recovered," said Wahidullah Mayar, the ministry spokesman.

Hanifullah Hanif, a doctor at a private hospital in Kabul, is the latest victim of the virus in the country, bringing the death toll from the virus in Afghanistan to 11.

The Ministry of Public Health says the doctor was cared for in the hospital where he was working.

“Today I spoke with the hospital director about how many doctors he had been in contact with. We are sending our team to take samples of 20 of their doctors,” added Mayar.

“It is possible that the more positive cases we have, the death toll will also go higher,” said Akmal Samsor, a doctor.

The Ministry of Public Health recently classified the spreading virus as potentially "catastrophic."

After Herat, in recent days, the highest number of people infected with the virus has been recorded in western Kabul.
