The Foreign Ministry’s spokesman said that a delegation of the Islamic Emirate led by Mohammad Musa Amiri, head of the ministry's finance and administrative office affairs, on Thursday visited the Afghan consulate in Khorog Badakhshan in Tajikistan.

The deputy spokesman of MoFA said that the purpose of the visit was to review the activities of the consulate and remove challenges.

"A delegation reviewed the activities of the consulate and also sent a report on the reconstruction of the consulate compound to MoFA," said Zia Ahmad Takal, the ministry's deputy spokesperson. 

The compound of Afghanistan's consulate in Khorog was damaged by avalanches," said MoFA's deputy spokesman.

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan embassy in Tajikistan said that now former diplomats are working in the embassy and there has been no information about the visit of the delegation of the Islamic Emirate to Badakhshan province of Tajikistan.

"The Consul General of Afghanistan is in Khorog with former staff and there is no official delegation," said Mehran Aghbar, spokesman for the embassy of Afghanistan to Tajikistan.

"If the Islamic Emirate can use this opportunity, they will provide the means to improve relations," said Wais Naseeri, a political analyst.

Political analysts said that Central Asia countries are trying to provide the means for unofficial relations with the Islamic Emirate for the sake of security, economic interest, and the presence of Afghan refugees in those countries.

"Because of the security requirements, the presence of security threats in Afghanistan, and the requirements for economic interactions between the neighboring countries, the countries of the region are forced to have a limited interaction with the Taliban." said Sayed Noorullah Raghi, a former diplomat.

According to MoFA, the Islamic Emirate has sent their diplomats to 14 countries and efforts to transfer diplomats to embassies in other countries are ongoing.
