6:30 REPORT: Effectiveness Of High Peace Council Discussed
In this episode of 6:30 Report, host Sayed Tariq Majidi looks into concerns around the deadlock over peace talks with the Taliban and at whether the High Peace Council (HPC) is an effective body.
The HPC is the peace facilitating body which was formed to outline inclusive programs for peace with the Taliban in the country.
Established a decade ago by former president Hamid Karzai, the HPC has continually been criticized for its failure to achieve peace, especially with the Taliban.
This also comes after government has invested millions into the council to date.
