Takhte Istalif Hotel is one of the most fascinating historical monuments in Afghanistan and is being restored by the Afghan government. 

The monument was in ruins for almost three decades.

The hotel once housed kings, and travelers from around the world.

The Afghan govt allocated 77.7 million Afs to repair the heritage site.

The original blueprint for the hotel was brought from England during King Amanullah Khan's reign. However, practical work on the hotel started during the reign of King Mohammad Zahir.

Istālif is a village 29 km northwest of Kabul city. The hotel was built on a hillside.

The two-story building is lying on 5,420 meters of land.

The hotel was destroyed during the Taliban regime and the civil war.

Istalif district is also known for its beautiful pottery.

The monument will be used as a guesthouse
