Suicide Attack Near Border Force Outpost in Kunduz

A suicide car bomber was killed by security forces near an outpost of the Afghan Border Force in the northern province of Kunduz before reaching his target on Tuesday morning, the Ministry of Defense said.

The incident happened at 7:00 am local time in Imam Sahib district in Kunduz after a suicide bomber wanted to enter an outpost of the border force but he was recognized and was stopped by the Afghan soldiers, the statement said.

Some attackers started gunfight with security forces after the blast, said the statement, adding that some attackers were killed and other fled the area.

The ministry said the situation is under control of the security forces.

The ministry did not provide more details on the incident.

Source said that clashes in the area are ongoing.

Taliban so far has not commented on the incident.
