Profile: Aminullah Rezaee Who Was Killed in Kabul Attack

The IED blast in Makrorayan-e-Char area in Kabul’s PD9 on Saturday left three people dead. Among them was Aminullah Rezaee, a driver in the Central Bank, and a breadwinner to a 10-member family.

Two others who lost their lives in the attack were former TOLOnews presenter and a Central Bank media advisor, Yama Siawash, and a Central Bank senior official, Ahmadullah.

His family said they have faced an unknown fate.

“My son was young. He had children. He was the breadwinner of the family,” said Zahra, mother of Aminullah Rezaee.

“Security should be ensured. What is going on? We are heartbroken,” said Karima, Rezaee’s spouse.

Aminullah Rezaee was 32 years old and was a high school graduate. He was working in the transportation department of the Central Bank for the last eight years.

He is survived by Raihana, one and a half years old, Mohammad Ramin, 4, and his wife, Karima.

“We don’t have any demand from the government. Everyone wanted security but it could not ensure the safety of the people,” Rezaee’s brother Hayatullah Rezaee said.

Meanwhile, prayer ceremony was held for Yama Siawash where his friends and family called for a proper investigation into Saturday’s attack.

“Internal competition within the Central Bank where Yama was newly appointed, should be thoroughly investigated. I don’t want to judge. I don’t want to accuse anyone, but I hope that the incident is probed from all dimensions,” said Mirwais Arya, Siawash’s friend.

“The security forces lines should be cleared of the ‘fifth pillar’ and those who have links with terrorists,” Erfanullah Erfan, an MP.
