District Police Chief in Kunduz Killed in Clash: Sources

Ahmad Omar Saleh, Kunduz’s Chardara district police chief, was killed in clashes with the Taliban on Monday night, security sources said. 

Taliban attacked security forces in Chardara and three other security force members were killed in the fighting, the sources said. 

Saleh was police chief of the district for the past several years.  

Local security officials have not yet commented on the attack.

Taliban has not yet commented on the attack. 

Meanwhile, six people, including four civilians, were killed and six more were wounded in an explosion that targeted a military vehicle in Yaqubi district, Khost province, this afternoon, police said.
