At least two doctors were abducted by gunmen in Bagram district of Parwan province on Monday night, local officials confirmed.

The incident happened about 8:30pm local time while they were at the Emergency clinic in Sar-e-Sayad village, said Mohammad Sadiq, head of the provincial criminal investigation department. 

However, Sadiq did not provide further details.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

No group has claimed responsibility.
