Fazel Fazly, head of the administrative office of the President, has confirmed that Jawid Wali, deputy of the coordination of advisers' affairs, has been “critically wounded” in an IED blast this morning, and his driver Bahramuddin was killed.
Initially, police said one civilian was killed and two others were wounded in a blast targeting a car in Kabul city on Thursday morning.
The blast occurred around 8:10am local time when a mine exploded and targeted a Corolla-model car in Chehel Sutoon area in PD7 of Kabul city Thursday morning, the statement said.
The wounded were transferred to the hospital for treatment, police said.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
