Baghlan Civil Society Activist Killed in Kabul: Police

Abdi Jahid, a civil society activist from Baghlan, was killed in an attack by unknown armed men in Bostan Street in Kabul’s PD17 on Thursday evening, police said. 

Police said the civil society activist was from Nahrin district in the northern province of Baghlan. 

Meanwhile, Abdul Baqi, a tribal elder in Helmand, was killed in an attack by unknown armed men in Lashkargah city on Thursday evening, local officials said.

Targeted attacks have increased in Kabul over the last two months. 

On Thursday, an employee of the Presidential Palace was wounded and his driver was killed in an IED blast in Chehel Sutoon area in Kabul.

A survey from Dec. 21, 2020, by TOLOnews, shows that Kabul witnessed 60 security-related incidents in 64 days in which 133 people were killed and 280 more wounded.
