At least one border police officer was killed and two more were wounded in an explosion in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Tuesday morning, local officials said. 

The explosion occurred in Surkh Rod district when a police vehicle was hit by an IED, according to the officials. 

The officials did not provide further details about the blast. 

No group including the Taliban has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
