Three People Killed in Kabul Security Incidents

Three people were killed and two more were wounded in two security incidents in Kabul in last 24 hours, sources said on Wednesday.

In the first incident on Tuesday night, one person was killed and two more were wounded in a clash between armed robbers and passengers of a bus in Bagrami district of Kabul, sources said.

The armed men were attempting to rob the passengers, the sources said.

On Wednesday morning, one member of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) and one employee of the Ministry of Defense were killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Hussainkhel area in Bagrami district of Kabul this morning, sources said. 

“The victims are father and son,” the sources said, adding that “the father worked for NDS and the son for the Ministry of Defense.”

Police so far have not commented on the incidents.

340 killed, wounded in Kabul in 15 days 

The findings of TOLOnews show that up to 340 were either killed or wounded in security incidents in Afghanistan since the start of February as a result of magnetic IEDs, roadside bombs and targeted killings. 

Based on the findings, 168 people were killed and 172 more were wounded. 

According to TOLOnews findings, the scale of violence, particularly targeted killings, IED blasts and Taliban attacks dramatically increased after the impasse in the peace negotiations in Doha. 

The majority of the casualties occurred due to IED attacks and targeted killings in the cities. 

Most of the incidents gripped provinces like Kabul, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Uruzgan and Faryab.
