The ex-wife of Sayed Jamal Mubraiz, a competitor in Afghan Star, a reality television show competition that searches for the most talented singers across Afghanistan, has been mysteriously killed in Kabul.

Mubariz said that he was officially separated from his wife one-and-a-half months ago and does not know what happened to her.

Meanwhile, security sources said they did not find evidence of suicide and that forensic investigations show that she has been killed.

Her name was Samira and she was reportedly killed by a knife in the west of Kabul on Tuesday.

“I heard that she has been killed, but I don’t know what really happened,” said Noor Mohammad, a neighbor of Samira.

Social media users have strongly condemned the murder and have called on the legal and judicial institutions to investigate Mubariz in connection to the murder.

Samira was 26-years-old and was pregnant at the time of the killing.

She has left two children behind.

“This is very sad news, I am not in contact with her relatives and do not know what really happened, I don’t know whether it is a suicide or murder, but I hope that the security officials investigate it so that we discover the main cause of the case,” said Mubariz.

“There have been family issues, it has roots in the past, there has been some arguments between them, the woman was shouting, I think there have been some issues in the family,” said Ibrahim Hussaini, a neighbor of Samira.

The victim’s family members have called on security agencies to investigate the case.
