1 Policeman Killed in Attack by Unidentified Gunmen in Kabul

One police force member was killed and one more was wounded in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Kabul on Tuesday morning, police confirmed in a statement. 

The attack took place at around 08:50 am local time in the Chawk-e-Arghandi area in Paghman district, Kabul, after the gunmen opened fire on a security force members’ vehicle, police said.

Police said an investigation has started into the incident. 

A security source said that the vehicle belonged to Maidan Wardak police HQ.

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

This comes as on Sunday evening, three security force members were killed in a car bomb attack in Paghman. According to police, the explosive-laden vehicle was detonated near a military vehicle. At least 12 security force members were wounded in the explosion, police said. 

Figures by security officials show that at least 26 members of Afghan forces were killed and 30 more, including four civilians, were wounded in separate security incidents in six provinces in the last 24 hours.
