At least 10 people were killed and 13 more were wounded in a traffic accident in the southern province of Zabul on Thursday evening, local officials said Friday.
The incident happened in Jagdalak area in the city of Qalat, the center of Zabul, when a bus collided with a trailer truck, officials said.
According to officials, all the victims were civilians and were heading to the neighboring Helmand province for work.
Doctor Nazir, the chief physician at Zabul’s Central Hospital, said some of the wounded are in critical condition.
The motive behind the accident is not clear so far, but officials said such incidents often happen due to carelessness by drivers and damaged roads.
