Afghan Forces Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Helmand

A Mi-17 helicopter belonging to Afghan Air Force made an emergency landing during an operation against the Taliban in Nad Ali district in Helmand province on Monday night, the Army’s 215 Maiwand Corps said in a statement.

The statement said the helicopter made an emergency landing due to technical difficulties. 

No one was hurt in the incident, the statement said, adding that those on board were evacuated from the area and the helicopter was destroyed.

The statement added that at least 30 Taliban fighters were killed in the operation conducted by the Afghan forces in the area. 

Taliban has not commented on their casualties in the operation.
