Family of Young Man Killed By Kidnappers Calls for Justice

The family members of a young man who died two days ago in PD 5, in the Kota-e-Sangi area of Kabul, after being shot dead by kidnappers, called for justice.

Yama Abdal, 28, who worked as a doctor in a private laboratory, was killed in a failed kidnapping attempt at his home in Kabul.

Sayed Reza Abdal, Yama's brother, says that he was the target of the kidnappers and was first beaten by them but they fired and fled the scene, killing his brother Yama.

“Unfortunately, my brother Sayed Yama was martyred in this incident and I myself was seriously injured," said Sayed Reza Abdal, Yama’s brother.

"Doctor sahib got into the yard and then there was a noise, there was a gunshot, the people who had taken us hostage ran away.” said Sayed Fawad Abdal, Yama’s brother.

Yama's relatives strongly condemned his killing and asked the Islamic Emirate to identify and punish his killers.

“This attack caused the martyrdom of one of our loved ones and injured Dr. Sahib Abdal. We want justice from the Islamic Emirate,” said Shamon, one of Yama’s relatives.

Meanwhile, the Kabul Police Command says that they have arrested two people on charges of killing Yama.

“Today we have arrested two people in connection with this case,” said Khalid Zadran, Kabul police spokesman.

Murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, and other types of criminal incidents are once again spiking in the country. Experts on social issues consider poverty and unemployment as one of the main reasons for the increase.
