Officials: Kankor Exam to Be Held for 1 Week in Provinces, Then Kabul

Abdul Qahar Khamosh, the acting head of the National Examination Authority (NEXA), at a press conference said that the university entrance exam will be held in one, week-long round in 33 provinces of the country this year.

According to him, the examination in Kabul will be held after the provinces and will take two days.

"We are attempting to hold the entrance examination in one round for the first time this year, you know better that the examination procedure is really extensive," said Khamosh.

Although the head of the department refused to provide an exact date, he said that complete preparations have been made and it is expected that the exam will take place by the end of September.

“We give an identity verification test to about twenty volunteers in eight zone ls so we can evaluate the documents of our compatriots who have studied in different schools,” he said.

He stated that soon around 20,000 students will take the exam.

Meanwhile, some 12th grade students expressed their concerns over the delay in the Kankor exam in the country.

"I can't at all understand the lessons we are studying since we face a hazy and unknown future. We are quite concerned about the future," a schoolgirl named Muomina Nazari told TOLOnews.

“Unfortunately, we raised our voices for our future. We asked for the reopening of our schools, they cheated us and suspended our entrance exam,” said Shiba, a student.

The entrance exam usually was given in March, but the Ministry of Higher Education recently announced that the exam had been postponed due to some issues.
