At an event for World Teachers' Day, 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Hanafi said that the acting government is committed to the improvement of quality and quantity in the education sector.
Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi criticized the freezing of Afghanistan's foreign assets and said that more than 800,000 government employees' salaries have been paid from the national budget.
"More than 800,000 government employees have been paid from our national budget,"said Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi, 2nd Deputy PM.
According to the Ministry of Education statistics, more than 247,000 teachers are teaching right now.
The head of the Quality Management of Human Resources at the Ministry of Education said 20,000 vacancies have been created for teachers across the country.
"We have 247,000 teachers and we are responsible for their spiritual advancement and paying their salaries." said Mawlawi Abdulkhaliq Sadiq, Head of Quality Management of Human Resources of the Ministry of Education.
"In the current conditions, if we are under pressure, the reason is that we did not work as much as needed in the education sector," said Shaikh Nurulhaq Anwari, head of the Administrative Office.
Meanwhile, some teachers called on the Islamic Emirate to create facilities for girls to learn.
"We hope that schools will open for girls and educational facilities will be created for all of our citizens to get an education," said Mohammad Asif, principal of Habibia high school.
"Women are half of society and they have a basic role in the education of the new generation,"said Abdul Ghafar, a teacher.
At the event, the acting minister of education did not participate but said in a message that education is the only way for progress.
According to the Ministry of Education, right now more than 10 million students are busy learning, but it has been one year that female students have been banned from education.
At this event, officials of Islamic Emirate did not speak about reopening high schools for girls.
