The Islamic Emirate in reaction to a recent Zoom meeting of former Afghan politicians said that the participants of the meeting are not legitimate.

The deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, Bilal Karimi, also called on Afghans abroad to return to the country.

Some Afghan politicians, former government officials and Afghan civil rights activists held a virtual meeting, in which they called for a national dialogue.

“The Islamic Emirate has established a commission to facilitate the return of the people who are out of the country. They can live in calmness in their country,” said Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.

The number of participants in the meeting was more than 200.

Former Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar believes that three points mentioned in the Doha agreement have not been fulfilled, one of which was the intra-Afghan dialogues.

“There should be an intra-Afghan dialogue and through intra-Afghan dialogue a political consensus and a political agreement may be formed,” he said.

This comes as some of the Kabul residents called on the participants of the meeting to come to Afghanistan and resolve their problems with the Islamic Emirate.

Political analysts gave various opinions in this regard.

“These movements should aim to reconstruct the country and help the people, not to negatively affect the country,” said Amanullah Hotaki, a political analyst.
