Islamic Emirate: Moscow Format Should Have Kabul Delegate

In response to TASS news agency's reporting that Kabul would be absent from the "Moscow Format" meeting on Afghanistan which will take place in Moscow in mid-November, the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Emirate said that this meeting would be incomplete without a representative from the current government.

"Fortunately, Afghanistan today has a free, accountable, and legitimate government that has been able to maintain security throughout the country, protect its borders, and engage positively with its neighbors and the world in the political, economic, and security spheres. Accordingly, the Afghan government's absence from such meetings can have a negative effect on interaction," said Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.

Meanwhile, political analysts believe that holding such meetings is in the best interest of the country and have requested that the Islamic Emirate representative be invited to such meetings.

"I don't think a meeting about Afghanistan where the Islamic Emirate is not present will be productive,” said Hassan Haqyar, political analyst.

Last week, some media reported that Russia's National Security Adviser Nikolay Patrushev attributed the formation of the Taliban Islamic Movement to the US.

However, the deputy spokesperson of the foreign ministry denies this claim of this Russian official.

"The Islamic Taliban movement was created by the people to defend their country's Islamic system after the former Soviet Union was defeated,” said Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesman of the Foreign Ministry.

Previously, the Russian TASS news agency reported that the representatives of Russia, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the "Moscow Format" meeting.
