The acting minister of MUDH, Hamdullah Nomani, said that on Tuesday he met with many Turkish investors and talked about making investments in Afghanistan.
"Their focus was mostly on the industry and agricultural sectors. For example, in the field of factory construction. A company in the telecommunications industry was ready and said that they could work in the field. They agreed to work, but they said that more time was needed to determine the plan,” Nomani said.
The representative of these Turkish businessmen told TOLOnews that Afghanistan has a lot of investment opportunities, and that is why they came to the country to investigate.
Members of a Turkish trade group said they would assess the possibilities for investing in Kabul's New Town project.
"When we met the Minister of Urban Development, we discussed the Kabul New Town area ... Following that, today we visited Kabul New Town. We have a map of the Kabul New Town and are currently discussing this with the Turkish investors who have come from Turkey,” said Fikri Karavil. the chairman of HAKSIAD, an industry and trade group.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that foreign investors have shown an interest in making investments in Afghanistan.
"Turkey is in contact with us. They want to come here and make investments in Afghanistan. China is also in touch with us. We have friends in Kazakhstan and Russia. They are attempting to make a major investment here from Iran as well,” said Nooruddin Azizi, acting Minister of Industry and Commerce.
According to experts, when foreign investors begin to bring funds into Afghanistan, it will open up employment opportunities for a large number of Afghans.
