Interior Ministry: Afghanistan Not a Threat to Other Countries

The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs in a press conference in Kabul spoke about the ministry's achievements over the past year and denied the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan.

The spokesman for the ministry, Abdul Nafay Takor, said that terrorist groups are not present in Afghanistan and there is no threat to other countries.

The spokesman for the ministry added there is no cultivation of crops for illicit drugs anywhere in Afghanistan, and they will not allow such cultivation.

“I have talked about the drugs--you will not be able to find even one acre of land in which poppy has been cultivated in the entire geography of Afghanistan,” said Abdul Nafay Takor, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

"Unfortunately, Afghanistan is number one in poppy cultivation in the world, and the increase in drug addiction is a serious matter,” said Sadiq Shenwari, a political analyst.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs added that Afghanistan more than ever is secure now that terrorist groups do not exist in the country, and they pledged to provide security throughout the country.

“The current security of Afghanistan has not been the same as in the past forty, fifty, or sixty years, Afghanistan was not secure like today ever,” said Abdul Nafay Takor, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

Takor added that in the past two months more than 1,200 criminal reports have been received and more than 800 of them have been dealt with.
