Pakistan, Tajikistan Leaders Call for Afghan Inclusive Govt

The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, at a joint conference called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.

Rahmon traveled to Pakistan on Wednesday.

The Tajik president urged peace and stability in Afghanistan.

“We are interested for peace and stability in Afghanistan as well as national satisfaction. For this, the formation of an inclusive government with inclusion of political and tribal sides, have been stressed. We have supported regional and international efforts in this regard,” he said.

The Islamic Emirate did not comment on this but earlier said that the formation of an inclusive government is Afghanistan’s internal issue.

“The formation of the government and the formation of an inclusive government is an internal issue of our country. The Islamic Emirate as a real government, as a real representative of its people, is making decisions about the Afghan issues,” Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, told TOLOnews earlier.

Pakistan's PM said that Islamabad is looking forward to working with Tajikistan on the CASA-1000 project and rail connectivity.

The political analysts believe that the formation of an inclusive government can improve the relations of the caretaker government with the international community.

"Whenever, the governments are strengthened based on the wishes of the nations, it can represent the right of all people of Afghanistan,"said Sediqq Mansoor, a political analyst.

Earlier, the international community put the formation of an inclusive government, human rights, access to work and the education of women, as preconditions for recognition of the caretaker government of the Islamic Emirate.
