Afghan Geneva Mission: Islamic Emirate Interfering With Aid

The legal advisor of the Afghanistan Mission in Geneva, Mohibullah Tayib, accused the Islamic Emirate of interfering with aid deliveries.

He made the remarks at a UN meeting in Geneva.

“The Taliban have also forced NGOs to register and provide information which has led to the interference with the equitable delivery of humanitarian aid,” he said.

He also expressed concerns over the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Economy meanwhile said that the interim government is attempting to deliver the aid with transparency.

“The Islamic Emirate has no interference in humanitarian aid delivery. We are trying to distribute the aid to the vulnerable people and ensure transparency in delivering the aid,” said Abdul Latif Nazari, deputy Minister of Economy.

Meanwhile the US special envoy for Afghan women and girls Rina Amiri tweeted that during the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women: “I focused on drawing attention to the need for political solidarity & concrete support for Afghan women & girls."

"Had productive meetings with Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, OIC, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Japan, and the EU, among others,” she said.
