The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that in 1401 (solar year), one hundred foreign investors received visas to Afghanistan.

The officials of this ministry noted that the investors came to Afghanistan to make investments in the mining and agriculture sectors.

“A service desk was established at Kabul airport for the first time through which visa services and other necessary services are offered, and, last year, about 100 foreign investors received visas at this desk,” said Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce.

More than 5,000 permits in the trade and investment sector, as well as 7,000 business passports, have been given out to businesspeople in the past year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, five export processing zones will be established in Kabul and in other provinces to boost exports and standardize products.

"The Ministry of Industry and Commerce wants to establish export processing centers in 5 zones of the country, including Kabul, in order to standardize and increase exports,” said Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce's spokeswoman, Akhundzada Abdul Salam Javad, stated that over 8,000 women work in various sectors, particularly in agriculture and handicrafts.

“There are more than 8,000 businesswomen in Afghanistan who work in the agricultural, industrial, and other sectors,” Javad noted.

Afghanistan is now self-sufficient in 50 sectors, and its exports have reached $2 billion, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
