Zamir Kabulov To Represent Russia in Doha Meeting

Russian Special Presidential Representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said that he will represent Russian in the international meeting of special representatives on Afghanistan to be held in Doha on February 18-19.

TASS News agency reported that Kabulov said the Russian side "will lead its partners to the right line of behavior" at the upcoming meeting.

“Russia believes that political stability in Afghanistan will come when the Afghan government becomes inclusive,” Wahid Faqiri, a political analyst told TOLOnews.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that the meeting will be effective if it is in accordance with the demands of the current Afghan government.

Mujahid added that the Islamic Emirate has not yet reached a conclusion about participating in the Doha meeting.

"If the meeting is in accordance with the demands of the Islamic Emirate to request cooperation with the people of Afghanistan, this meeting will undoubtedly be useful, but if the meeting has other goals like other meetings, it is natural that it will not be effective,” the spokesman added.

“They [the Islamic Emirate] can bring up their demands there and the world can also bring up their demands in the Doha meeting,” said Aziz Marij, a political analyst.

The Doha meeting on Afghanistan will be held on February 18 and 19 in Doha, Qatar.

Delegations from the Islamic Emirate and civil society representatives have also been invited to this meeting.
