Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, once again said the patrolling of American drones over Afghan airspace is a blatant violation and contrary to international laws.
Zabihullah Mujahid said that if these flights continue, a decision must be made in response.
“We consider it a violation and this a blatant violation of international law and also this is a violation of airspace, it should be stopped and we condemn it, if further actions are taken, we can decide then,” he added.
Previously, residents of the provinces of Panjshir, Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, and Kandahar have said that drones occasionally patrol the skies in their provinces.
They said that these aircraft have been conducting continuous flights over the border areas of Afghanistan over the last two or three days.
“I myself it witnessed on the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, and I saw it in the district of Imam Sahib and it is seen after each two or three days,” said Ezatullah, a resident of Kunduz.
“The unknown aircraft are seen patrolling the skies of Takhar and Badakhshan in the last few days and this has caused concern among the residents of this region,” Abdul Sami Khawari, one of the residents of Takhar, told a TOLOnews reporter.
“If Americans want to ensure security with the patrolling by their aircraft, this is the opposite of the Doha Agreement. Instead they should share the intelligence information with the Afghan government and they can ensure security of Afghanistan, region and beyond this way,” said Zalmay Afghanyar, a military analyst.
This comes as the Islamic Emirate has repeatedly stated in response to the concerns of regional and world countries that Afghan soil will not be used against any country and the caretaker government is combating terrorist groups.
