The fiscal year 1403 (solar year) budget has been ratified by the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, stated that this year’s fiscal budget has been ratified after comprehensive reviews; however, no details on the amount have been provided.
According to Mujahid, the needs and priorities of the people have been widely considered in this budget.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economy says that the fiscal year 1403 budget has been prepared from domestic revenues and includes infrastructure and development projects aimed at reducing poverty.
Abdul Latif Nazari, the deputy minister of Economy, said: “The most important goals considered in this year’s budget are infrastructure and development projects aimed at reducing poverty and strengthening household purchasing power.”
Although the Ministry of Finance has not yet provided details about this year’s budget, some experts emphasize the implementation of projects that will positively impact the people’s economy.
Shams Rahman Ahmadi, an economic expert, said: “The money spent in Afghanistan is recycled within the country, benefiting the domestic economy. This can be very beneficial for our country’s economy in the future, enabling it to stand on its own. Since the budget is approved from Afghanistan's internal resources, this money will never leave the country.”
Sherbaz Kaminzada, head of the Chamber of Industries and Mines, said: “Our budget is not being spent on war, so we request the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to use it for infrastructure sectors such as dams and canals, electricity, roads, and railways.”
Last year’s fiscal budget was also ratified in the month of Jawza, and this year it was ratified in the same month.
Previously, the Ministry of Finance stated that revenue collected from customs and domestic income sources, including the country’s mines, are among the most important sources of funding for the national budget.
