Parwan Residents Demand Completion of 200-Bed Hospital

Some residents of Parwan are calling on the authorities to resume the unfinished construction of the province's 200-bed public hospital.

They state that the 100-bed hospital in Parwan does not meet the needs of all the patients in the province and currently faces challenges.

Musa, a resident of Parwan, said: "Our hospital's capacity is low, and patients are not properly attended to. We want the unfinished 200-bed hospital to be completed."

Hamid, another resident of Parwan, said: "Parwan's hospital does not have enough capacity, and many patients visit it."

Nine years after the construction of the 200-bed public hospital in Parwan began, the project remains incomplete.

The foundation stone of this hospital was laid in 1394 (solar year) at a cost of over 5 million by the previous government, but it was halted for unknown reasons.

However, local officials in Parwan say they have recently shared their proposals with the Ministry of Public Health to restart the hospital's construction.

Mohammad Idris Anwari, Deputy Governor of Parwan, said: "We have proposed to high-ranking officials to complete the remaining work of the 200-bed public hospital in Parwan so that it can be operational and usable as soon as possible."

Hedayatullah Azam, Director of Public Health in Parwan, said: "We have shared the issue of the hospital's construction with the authorities and hope the building work will begin, and the people's problems will be solved."

Meanwhile, a health aid organization in Parwan has built a medicine storage facility to treat people collectively during significant incidents. This facility can treat up to 1,000 people at a time.

Riaz-ul-Haq Naderi, a representative of the aid organization in Parwan, said: "Our focus is on responding to emergencies through medicine and transport support."

Abdullah Afghanmal, Deputy Director of Public Health in Parwan, said: "It can treat 1,000 people at one time."

According to public health officials in Parwan, about 35 health centers in the province do not have standard buildings and operate in rented houses.
