Hamdullah Nomani, the acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, said urban planning reforms, road construction, and mosque building on highways are the most significant achievements of the ministry in the past three years.
In an exclusive interview with TOLOnews, Nomani stated that the work on 800 projects of this ministry, including the construction of Makrorian Five buildings, Immigrant Town, and Teacher's Town, has been halted due to corruption from the past.
The acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing said, "The biggest problem is with the projects that were corrupted in the past. For example, in the Teachers' Town project, Immigrant Town, and other projects. Overall, we have eight hundred housing projects in the state construction sector."
Nomani added that this ministry operates based on past standards but faces capacity issues.
He mentions that work on private properties in the New Kabul project is ongoing.
Hamidullah Nomani said, "In the New Kabul project, there are two sections: one is government land, which the state will decide when to start work on. The second is people's land. In New Kabul, a lot of property belongs to the people."
The acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing also added that land is being provided in 29 provinces for returnees from other countries, with current land distribution ongoing in Kandahar.
Hamidullah Naeemi said, "Approximately, since November last year, when the order of the leader of Islamic Emirate was issued, we have allocated land in 29 provinces."
The acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing called on investors who have invested abroad to return to the country and invest in various sectors.
