17,500 Children Reached With Schooling in Baghlan's Remote Districts

An aid organization has facilitated education for 17,500 boys and girls in seven districts of Baghlan province.

The provincial head of this organization, Ahmad Ramez Fazli, said that by creating 600 local classes in areas far from schools, they have also hired more than 1,000 teachers.

According to Fazli, Baghlan-e-Markzai, Doshi, Khenjan, Burka, Nahrin, Dahna-e-Ghori, and Pul-e-Khumri are among these districts where educational curricula for grades one to six have been taught, and afterward, students are integrated into public schools.

Ahmad Ramez Fazli, the provincial head of the Asia Community Development Organization(ACDO) in Baghlan, said: “Out of our 617 classes, we have created job opportunities for about 1,150 teachers and we have about 17,500 students who are engaged in education.”

Teachers and students are demanding the expansion of such local classes in other parts of this province.

Waheeda Raja, a teacher, said: “It is very good we have found jobs in conditions where the families' economy is weak, and we can work close to home and solve our problems.”

Abdul Wali Hassand, another teacher, said: “We request that such classes be expanded in other areas where children have been deprived of education because we have had good results from these classes.”

Shukrullah, a student, said: “I am very happy today because I can learn various subjects such as mathematics, Pashto, English, and others in these classes.”

After the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, some aid organizations, by creating local classes in remote parts of the country, have provided educational opportunities for thousands of children deprived of education. However, most citizens of the country are calling for the establishment of formal schools in these areas.
