The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has reported that approximately 23,000 refugees have returned to the country in the past week.
Abdul Mutalib Haqqani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, told TOLOnews that nearly 16,000 of these refugees returned from Iran, with the rest coming from Turkey and Pakistan.
Haqqani has urged host countries to treat Afghan refugees legally and humanely.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation stated, "In the past week, approximately 23,000 Afghans have returned to their country, with around 16,000 coming from Iran, about 5,000 from Turkey, and around 2,000 from Pakistan."
Abdul Karim, who returned to the country after forty years in Pakistan, said that living in Pakistan had become difficult for him and his family.
Abdul Karim said, "I lived in Pakistan for nearly forty years. My business was not doing well, and we were in a tough situation, so we decided to come to Afghanistan."
At the same time, a large number of Afghan refugees have complained about their challenges in neighboring countries.
Akbar Soltani, an Afghan refugee in Iran, said: "Afghans who do not have ID cards or passports, when detained by the police, if they have money, the police take it from them and then deport them."
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has once again called on host countries to treat Afghan refugees in accordance with international laws.
