Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, the leader of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party, said he has made efforts to improve relations between Kabul and Islamabad, but the government of Pakistan has not taken any steps in this regard.
In an interview with a media outlet about his meeting with the leader of the Islamic Emirate, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said that the leader's view of Pakistan was positive.
The leader of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party said: "These groups were ready to accept the solution you propose, but our rulers in Pakistan are so incompetent that they cannot implement the right decision."
Criticizing the government of Pakistan, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said they blame Afghanistan for the country's insecurity. Although in this interview, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman considered the Pakistani army strong, he questioned the government's ability by raising the question of how terrorists move from one region to another in Pakistan.
He added: "The Chinese were attacked, and it was said that the Afghans were responsible. Tell me, when they crossed a checkpoint from Afghanistan, how many checkpoints are there from the border to Quetta? And from Quetta to Miranshah?"
The Islamic Emirate has not yet commented on the latest remarks of the leader of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party.
But why has the Pakistani government not accepted the proposals of the leader of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party regarding improving relations between the two countries?
"Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has lost the power and influence he once had, and now the military sector in the Pakistani government makes most of the decisions," Akbar Sial Wardak, a political analyst, told TOLOnews.
This comes shortly after Islamabad announced the visit of its foreign minister to Kabul to improve relations.
