Libraries Established in Kabul Parks: Municipality Official

The head of cultural affairs of Kabul Municipality, during the opening ceremony of the exhibition named "Iqra" (reading) in Shahr-e Naw Park of Kabul, announced the establishment of libraries in Kabul parks.

Wali Gul Jawad, the head of cultural affairs of Kabul Municipality, said: "One of our promises is that Kabul Municipality will work to establish libraries in Kabul parks, and we are committed to our promise. This work has started from Aladdin Park in the third district of Kabul city."

The head of cultural affairs of Kabul Municipality said that the aim of establishing these libraries is to attract the attention of the youth towards promoting the culture of reading.

Amirjan Saqib, deputy of the Academy of Sciences, said: "Organizing such exhibitions is very positive and valuable, and our government leaders should pay more attention to this issue."

At the same time, an exhibition named "Iqra" was inaugurated by a private company in cooperation with the cultural affairs department of Kabul Municipality in Shahr-e Naw Park of Kabul.

Some visitors said the organization of such exhibitions is beneficial for the growth of the reading culture among the youth.

Hamed Qasemi, one of the visitors to the exhibition, said that organizing such exhibitions can strengthen the culture of reading among the country's citizens, especially the youth.

He added: "In this exhibition, books and works of great poets and writers were displayed, and I also benefited from them."

Abdul Wahid, another visitor, said: "The continuation of such exhibitions creates a good motivation for people and youth to turn to book reading and studying."

The organizers said the aim of holding the book exhibition is to promote the culture of reading among the youth and to use domestic products.

Farooq Mohammadi, an organizer, told TOLOnews: "We have two goals in this exhibition. Our first goal is to promote the culture of reading not only for men but also for our dear sisters. Our second goal is to show people that just as you use books, you should also use domestic products."

According to the organizers, three thousand books in various fields, including psychology, novels, interpretation, and the Holy Quran, will be displayed for three days in the exhibition.
