Officials of the National Examination Authority (NEXA) announced the specialization of the Kankor exam for the upcoming year, during a program on Saturday where they presented the authority’s achievements over the past year.
They said that discussions are ongoing to implement this process so that the Kankor exam will be specialized in three areas: medical, social, and scientific.
Erfanullah Ebad, head of the Question Bank Regulation of the National Examination Authority, said during this program: "We intend to specialize the Kankor exam into three categories: medical, social, and natural sciences. Meetings have been held with the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, and discussions are ongoing. The specialization will be such that, for example, if a person wants to take the medical exam, more medical-related questions will appear."
The acting head of the National Examination Authority, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, said that they are also striving to strengthen the new system for administering the exam and eliminate existing challenges.
The acting head of the National Examination Authority said: "The examination systems of Afghanistan and Türkiye have similarities, but their final system is more advanced. Therefore, we have had meetings with Turkish representatives on this matter, and their technical team also visited here."
Furthermore, the acting head of the authority added that in the past year, they administered the exam to nearly 180,000 candidates in 58 stages and introduced more than 87,000 successful individuals.
