Officials from the Department of Labor and Social Affairs in Samangan have announced the establishment of a special orphanage for orphaned and unaccompanied girls in the province.
According to them, fifty girls have recently been admitted to this orphanage, and another 25 girls are expected to be admitted soon.
Faiz Mohammad Rehan, the head of the Department of Labor and Social Affairs of Samangan, said: "We plan to accommodate 75 orphaned girls in this orphanage under the Department of Labor and Social Affairs of Samangan. Currently, we have admitted more than fifty orphaned girls, and we hope to reach the target of seventy-five. The center we have established for girls is located in a part of the city where female teachers are serving these girls."
The girls who have been admitted to this orphanage say they could not attend school before due to a lack of guardianship and economic challenges, but now they are happy that all facilities have been provided for them.
Zahra, an orphaned child, said: "It has been five years since my father passed away, and I could not study because of that. Now that an orphanage has been built for us in Samangan, I am happy and can study with other girls."
Another orphaned child, Arezu, said: "It has been five years since my father became disabled. When I was at home, we neither had good food nor did I study. Now that we have come here, I am very happy; I study and have good teachers, and I strive to study well."
Abdul Latif, another orphaned child, said: "I am a tenth-grade student. Before this, I was not familiar with my studies and faced many problems. Alhamdulillah, it's been almost a year and a half since I came here, and now I can properly focus on my studies. Alhamdulillah, everything here, from food and clothing to other necessities, is provided for us."
The head of the Department of Labor and Social Affairs in Samangan stated that more than 200 other children facing economic challenges have been enrolled in preparatory and kindergarten classes and have been provided with free education opportunities.
The head of the Department of Labor and Social Affairs of Samangan also reports that currently, 200 orphaned children, including girls, are living in orphanages in the province.
