Peskov: Relations Between Neighbors, Afghanistan Important

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin's spokesperson, regarding Kyrgyzstan's recent decision to remove the name of the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups, has stated that the reasons provided by this country are understandable.

According to a report by the TASS news agency, Peskov also emphasized the importance of Afghanistan maintaining relations with its neighbors, adding that Afghanistan's neighboring countries should have relations with the current authorities of Afghanistan.

In the report, Dmitry Peskov is quoted as saying: "Kyrgyzstan is located very close to Afghanistan" and "it’s important for neighbors to maintain relations with the actual authorities." Pesko said: "It’s a necessity because otherwise, it’s impossible to build any ties," the Kremlin spokesman explained. "We understand the situation," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has also confirmed in an official statement that it has removed the name of the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups. The ministry added that this decision was made to strengthen regional stability and support ongoing international dialogues concerning Afghanistan.

The statement from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads: “The Kyrgyz Republic remains committed to supporting the efforts of the international community aimed at ensuring a stable and peaceful environment in Afghanistan and the region as a whole.”

Sayed Akbar Sial Wardak, a political affairs expert, told TOLOnews: “It is necessary for the Islamic Emirate to interact with the entire world based on its values, interests, and concepts, so that we can emerge from the current crisis, whether it is economic, political isolation, or other situations.”

Earlier, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate stated that Kyrgyzstan's decision to remove the name of the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups indicates a developing regional and global political understanding regarding the Islamic Emirate and represents the removal of obstacles to strengthening relations between the Islamic Emirate and other countries.
