Islamic Emirate Leader: 20-Year Jihad Was Islamic Obligation

The fourteen-day trip of Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, to the northern provinces of the country has concluded.

In a meeting with officials and religious scholars in Jawzjan province, Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada described the twenty-year war of the Islamic Emirate against the US and its allies as a “Fard 'Ayn”, adding that this war was against America, not Afghans.

The leader of the Islamic Emirate said: "Our target was the usurpers, the oppressive infidels, America, and their associates. Our aim was not to kill Afghans. We repeatedly told them and announced that they should distance themselves from the US, and let us face America alone on the battlefield."

During his visits to the northern provinces, the leader of the Islamic Emirate visited eleven provinces and, in all these meetings, stressed unity and brotherhood among the country's citizens.

Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada said: "The enemy does not want peace and security to come to Afghanistan; they want Afghanistan to always be in conflict and division, under their influence. You Afghans are a devout and courageous people."

"For national unity and the resolution of conflicts, we must take practical steps. It is true that the leader of the Islamic Emirate gives sensible and acceptable statements for national unity and the elimination of differences, but these statements must be implemented in practice," said Salim Paigir, a political analyst.

In part of his speech in Jawzjan, the leader of the Islamic Emirate said that the people of Afghanistan wanted an Islamic system in the country, and now with the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the rule of Sharia is in effect.
