Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, spokesperson for the Ministry of Vice and Virtue, has rejected the report from the US Institute of Peace, which claimed there were disagreements over the ministry’s new law. He stated that the claims made in the report have no basis.
The spokesperson also emphasized that there are no disputes regarding the new law of the Ministry of Vice and Virtue.
Speaking to TOLOnews, the spokesperson said: “The report by the US Institute of Peace is entirely false and based on unfounded information. The Islamic Emirate is globally recognized for its unity and coordination among its members.”
Khyber described the ministry’s new law as "an excellent law for reforming society," adding that it has been accepted by all citizens.
Previously, the US Institute of Peace, in its latest report, had claimed that the new law of the Ministry of Vice and Virtue of the Islamic Emirate had faced opposition.
Hasibullah Hanafi, a religious scholar, highlighted the importance of laws in society, stating: “Any law that is created leads people toward improvement, and society will be freed from corruption, murder, robbery, and kidnapping. Naturally, this means society moves toward reform.”
Sangeen Qadiri, another religious scholar, said: “The enforcement of laws, whether divine or man-made, reduces crime. Therefore, the implementation of laws is essential in every society.”
According to the Ministry of Vice and Virtue, the new law consists of four chapters and 35 articles, with key provisions including the prohibition of immoral acts, the requirement of hijab and modesty for women, and the regulation of how the ministry's officers interact with the public.
