Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement, said that after holding the Jirga, they will implement its decisions.
Pashteen, speaking after the funeral ceremony of the victims from yesterday at the Jirga camp, added that the Pakistani government fears the success of this Jirga, which is why the police forces have shot at its members.
The Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement leader further added: "The Jirga will be held, and decisions will be made. This is a joint Jirga of the leaders of my homeland's parties, my homeland's elders, tribal chiefs, and regional heads. I am committed to all of them, and whatever decision this nation makes—whether it brings destruction or prosperity, whether someone is pleased or upset—I will stand with them in ensuring the implementation of that decision."
In another part of his speech, Manzoor Pashteen reiterated that the Pakistani government fears the success of this Jirga.
He added: "When they saw the success of this Jirga, they started trying to stop it. They burned down the tents you set up here for ten or so rupees, and after that, they blocked the roads. When none of their actions worked, they opened fire here."
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that protecting the lives and property of the people is their duty, and they are trying to resolve this issue through dialogue.
Ali Amin Gandapur added: "The federal government has declared the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement a banned group. Since then, the situation has worsened, and some people have been martyred or injured. It is our responsibility to protect the lives and property of our people."
Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan's Interior Minister, previously stated that no one can establish a parallel judicial system. The Pakistani Interior Minister has warned that anyone who assists this Jirga or the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement will have their ID cards and other privileges revoked.
Mohsin Naqvi added: "No one can create a parallel and judicial system. If anyone helps them, their ID cards and other privileges will be revoked."
Earlier, members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, led by Imran Khan, also held widespread protests in Islamabad, which were met with a strong response from the Pakistani government.
