An Uzbekistan delegation, led by the country’s Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, recently visited Kabul and met with Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to a statement from the Arg, discussions during this meeting included various topics, particularly the expansion of relations between Kabul and Tashkent. The delegation arrived in Kabul on Wednesday and has since engaged in talks with various officials of the Islamic Emirate.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said, “The Uzbekistan delegation shared information about Uzbekistan's progress in cultural, religious, and educational sectors.”
Based on the statement from the Arg, the Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office regarded the visit of Uzbekistan’s religious scholars as a sign of friendship, close neighborhood ties, and shared interests between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. He added that this visit provides opportunities to establish new cooperation between the two countries based on existing commonalities.
Meanwhile, several political analysts consider these visits by delegations from different countries beneficial for Afghanistan.
Salim Paigir, a political analyst, said, “The more interactions we have with Uzbekistan, and vice versa, the more we can use these engagements for the benefit of the Afghan people, and Uzbekistan can also help strengthen our positive relations with the world.”
Zalmai Afghanyar, another political analyst, added, “Uzbekistan has maintained good economic and political relations with Afghanistan since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate. The arrival of these scholars can serve as a turning point in relations between Afghanistan and Central Asian countries.”
Earlier, a Malaysian delegation led by a representative of the Malaysian Prime Minister visited Kabul on 4th of Saur (solar calendar) and met with various officials of the Islamic Emirate.
