The General Directorate of Disaster Response and Firefighting reports that over the past year, it has responded to 1,300 various incidents nationwide.
Noorullah Ansar, the director of this department, said that they have over 2,500 personnel to manage these incidents and pledged that all incidents across the country will be handled promptly.
Ansar, mentioning the increase in equipment and manpower in the department, said: “This year, we have responded to 1,300 incidents. Additionally, around 4,000 preventive inspections, including technical and control checks, have been conducted. Currently, our staff has grown from 1,600 to 2,500 members.”
Meanwhile, some Kabul residents are requesting more attention from the firefighting department regarding potential incidents.
Wahid, a resident of Kabul, said: “At times, shopkeepers act carelessly and do not pay attention to cutting off power to their shops and ensuring safety, which can lead to major problems.”
Sayed Ali, another resident of Kabul, said: “I urge the public to immediately notify the firefighting department in case of fire incidents to enable timely action.”
Hedayat, another Kabul resident, said: “I request the firefighting department to increase their staff and respond quickly to incidents when they occur.”
Officials from this department have also reported improvements in equipment and increased resources to respond to incidents in Kabul and other provinces across the country.
